Malaspina University has several campuses around BC, the primary campus being situated in Nanaimo. In 2006, a group of concerned students and community members started up the SOLUTIONS group. Their successes over the past year include regualar Food Film Forums, a community gardening project and a composting program. They have also managed to get four paid positions for students to coordinate these programs through SOLUTIONS.

The Grandplan was submitted to the University president and VP Academic, outlining the successes of the student group over the past year and the direction the group would like to take in a variety of areas including transportation, food security, and peace and social justice.
