Parkland Secondary School
From ClimateNetworkWiki
Parkland Secondary joined the SHS Network in 2006, and was once of the first 5 schools to pilot it! Students Olivia Guerra and Lara Casciola contributed the successes and challenges to the discussions of the SHS Youth Steering Committee. Teacher Tracie Ashcroft acted as our "Transportation Goddess" during the SHS Youth Action Gathering, hauling all the Victoria participants' bikes to and from Wildwood so that we could reduce overall emissions by cycling throughout the week. Focus shifted from volunteer student efforts to curricular projects when the new and ambitious Global Studies course was launched in 2007-2008.
