The Sustainable High Schools Project (SHS) is a youth-driven initiative created to support high school communities in envisioning, assessing and improving their school’s level of sustainability. It is run in collaboration between the Sierra Club BC's Education Program and the Sierra Youth Coalition, the youth branch of the Sierra Club of Canada.
In the summer of 2008, the Sierra Youth Coalition will be co-hosting our annual Youth Action Gatherings with partner organizations in various regions in Canada such as Ottawa and New Brunswick. In B.C., 30 high school and post secondary students will camp out for a week at the beautiful and world-renowned Wildwood Ecoforest, located just south of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. You are invited to join us to build awareness, leadership skills and a community of youth working for school sustainability and climate action! We are co-hosting this summit with the Campus Climate Network and its partners.
